Single visit crowns , inlays, bridges and veneers!
When going the traditional route, getting a crown replaced can be quite a pain. Multiple visits, the goopy molding gel, and the discomfort of a temporary crown all add up to a long, arduous process. But at harub dental surgery we don’t go the traditional route. Using revolutionary CEREC technology, getting a crown is easier and more comfortable than ever before!
CEREC: Chairside Economical Restorations of Esthetic Ceramic is a state of the art technology that removes the lab, and the time, when creating tooth restorations for the patient. It is a more economic means of treating your dental problems and is much quicker than traditional restoring techniques. CEREC can be used for crowns, partial crowns, veneers and more!
The process starts with your dentist making a digital image of your tooth. That image is used by the CEREC software to create a 3-D model, and that model is used by your dentist and his staff to create your permanent restoration right there in the dentist’s office. After preparing the tooth by removing any existing decay, thoroughly cleaning and sealing it off, your dentist will place the permanent restoration – all in a single visit to the dentist office!
Laser dentistry is one of dentistry’s latest advances. The laser delivers energy in the form of light. Depending on the intended result, this energy travels at different wavelengths and is absorbed by a “target.” In dentistry, these targets can be enamel, decay, gum tissue, or whitening enhancers. Each one absorbs a different wavelength of light while reflecting others.
Laser dentistry can be used for both tooth and soft tissue related procedures. Oftentimes no local anesthesia is required. Unlike with the dental drill, with laser dentistry there is no heat or vibration, making the procedure quite comfortable for most patients. For soft tissue (surgical) procedures it eliminates the need for suturing and healing is much faster.
Lasers can be used to diagnose cavities. They can find hidden decay in teeth in early stages, and in some cases the decay can be reversed through hygiene and fluoride treatment and may never need filling.
Areas of dental care that benefit from laser technology:
Dental lasers have been shown to be safe and effective for treating both children and adults.
The laser interacts with a gel that is painted on each tooth, causing the release of oxygen which permeates the tooth, whitening it. The result is a whiter, brighter, more youthful smile and a more confident you!
Harub dental surgery has a CT Scan and Cone Beam Imaging system in house which generates 3D, high definition x-rays within seconds. Your dentist may use this technology to produce three dimensional (3-D) images of your teeth, soft tissues, nerve pathways and bone in a single scan.
Benefits
These x-rays allow your dentist to see problems such as bone abnormalities, cysts, tumors, infections, fractures and impacted teeth. With a panoramic x-ray there are no sensors placed inside the mouth. Instead the head of the panoramic machine moves slowly around the outside of the patient’s head. The image is then instantly available on the computer screen.
Digital x-rays allow your dentist to better detect, diagnose and treat oral problems and diseases. They produce better quality images than the older traditional type of x-rays and have up to 80 percent less radiation. With digital x-rays we are instantly able to share your images with you on our computer screen. By seeing what your dentist sees you are able to make a more educated decision regarding your treatment. Digital x-rays are easily stored as electronic files within our dental software, enabling us to access them quickly any time you wish to see them. Digital x-rays are also a “greener” alternative to the traditional style as there are no chemicals involved in any part of the process.
The camera is placed in the desired area, a button is pressed and the image is instantly available on our computer screen or on one of the flat screen T.V.’s that we have in each of our treatment rooms. Digital pictures allow us to show you what your dentists see. If you have a broken tooth or filling, we can actually show you what the tooth looks like so you are better able to understand why your dentist is prescribing treatment for that problem.
This gives us quick and easy access to all our patient information. The records are safely stored and secured on our server. Digital patient records are an eco-friendly choice as they eliminate the need for paper charts.
